SharePoint Outlook Integration

affinity has full support for SharePoint content types, metadata, defaults, mandatory metadata and taxonomies meaning that information management best practice and automation can be applied to enhance user productivity and efficiency.

Repstor affinity reduces Outlook PST storage & enhances SharePoint collaboration at global automotive supplier Brose

Brose is a large global automotive supplier. Its mechatronic systems for doors, seats
or electric motors and drives can be found in every second new vehicle around the
world today. The company, which is over a century old and is still family owned today,
employs more than 25,000 people across 60 locations in 23 countries.

Brose depends on IT to enable dispersed global teams to collaborate on customer projects.
It means it can field the right knowledge experts without any concerns about location.
The company has 15,000 Microsoft Office users internationally, Exchange mailbox servers sited
in Europe, Asia and North America, and a central SharePoint farm located in Germany.

Despite having central file shares and SharePoint collaboration portals, Brose’s project teams were
defaulting to email to hold and retrieve project-related information and documents, in the form of Outlook
personal folders (PST data files). A lot of time could be spent locating the latest version of content, and the
over-reliance on PST files located on the local network was consuming a lot of expensive storage. Also, if
users were unavailable or left the company, there was no easy way to get at the information held in their
email folders.

Repstor to Exhibit and Speak at Europe’s Largest Law Expo – London Law Expo 2017

The company prepares to launch a new campaign to help Law Firms exploit Office 365 for Matter Management

September 29th, 2017 – Repstor, the ECM adoption company that helps businesses exploit their SharePoint and Office 365 investments, has today announced that it is participating as an exhibitor and speaker at this year’s London Law Expo 2017.

This year’s event is being held at Old Billingsgate on October 10th and sees the amalgamation of the London Law Expo and the European Legal Security Forum. The event features 6 presentation stages, 70 expert speakers, 80 exhibitors and an estimated 2,000 visitors from the world of legal practice management, technology and IT security.

Repstor and strategic customer and partner, Eversheds Sutherland, join a line-up of world class speakers to present at 2PM on the Technology Hub stage. The talk entitled, ‘Exploiting Office 365 for Matter Management’, will be presented jointly by Eversheds Sutherland’s Graham Richardson and Repstor’s Sheila Gormley.

Repstor will launch its Office365 for Matter Management campaign featuring its new white paper ‘7 Indisputable Reasons to use Office 365 for Matter Management’. London Law Expo delegates are invited get their complimentary copy from stand A24 or download a PDF here.

CTO of Repstor Fergus Wilson added:

“Office 365 is an existing resource most firms have already invested in, and many of its capabilities are inherently superior to those of dedicated matter management systems. This is largely due to the huge investment Microsoft has made in Office 365, added to the vast ecosystem of Microsoft software partners which are enhancing Office 365 all the time with new, specialist features and integration options.”

Fergus continues, “Our latest campaign will help firms to make the case for selecting Office 365 for complete matter lifecycle management – a move that law firms ranging from large international practices like Eversheds Sutherland to challenger firms like gunnercooke have already made.”

New Repstor paper sets out ‘7 indisputable reasons to use Microsoft 365 as a matter management platform’

Reason 1: It’s where the investment is

September 27th , 2017 – Repstor, the ECM adoption company that helps businesses exploit their SharePoint and Microsoft 365 investments, has published a new paper setting out ‘7 Indisputable reasons to use Microsoft 365 as a matter management platform’, challenging legal teams to look at the software they already have (and use every day) before exposing themselves to the expense and upheaval of deploying a dedicated document management system.

As all law firms and in-house corporate legal teams come under pressure to improve efficiency, measure productivity and collaborate more effectively, interest in systematic content management is rising sharply. But as the new Repstor paper makes clear, there is no need to invest in a dedicated, separate system for this when the vast majority of legal professionals already have established office systems they use routinely for sharing matter-related content.

Although, left unchecked, the popular practice of using email to distribute documents can be inefficient – and consume a lot of computer storage – this can be addressed easily using integrated Microsoft partner solutions which introduce new order and transparency to the way matter content is managed.

Reason 1 to default to Microsoft 365 (M365) for matter management, according to the paper, is the sheer momentum around the platform. M365 user numbers are expected to exceed 100 million by the end of 2017, propelled by heavy investment in the platform by Microsoft as well as its cloud partner ecosystem – estimated to be 10 times larger than Google’s. So it’s a robust platform for legal teams to align their routine processes with.

Other arguments include M365’s impressive feature set, made even richer by partner solutions such as Repstor custodian or ES/Unity which among other things add structure and workflow to email content filing. Then there’s the advanced management reporting, and the inherent security controls. And so on.

But probably the most obvious reason legal teams should centre their matter management on M365 is that it they have already invested in Microsoft technology – and, crucially, users are comfortable with it. As the paper makes clear, “By choosing to buy a distinct content management system for legal matters, firms are incurring unnecessary cost and complexity.”

Repstor and Eversheds Sutherland Coverage in Credit Control Journal

Eversheds Sutherlands head of consulting, Graham Richardson has written a very informative piece for key industry publication Credit Control Journal in which he discusses how in-house legal teams are caught in an ever growing digital divide.

Graham says that in-house legal teams are increasingly being seen as key strategic advisers to business, but they are unable to optimise productivity and efficiency due to a lack of technological tools, which is leaving them straddling an ever widening digital divide, according to the Looking Glass report.

This digital divide, he explains is hobbling in-house legal teams. This has prompted international law firm Eversheds Sutherland to make use of its own digital transformation (DX) journey to assist legal professionals.
